Do you have any ideas for adding/removing/changing scoring categories in our league? Here is a chance to have your voice heard.

I like the number of categories we have right now. I believe adding more will just be a pain. I would be interested in changing a few though.
Pitching: 1) Changing W (Wins)to QS (Quality Starts) 2) Combining Holds and Saves into one category (SV+HD) 3) Adding K/9IP or K/BB (Strikeout to walk ratio)
Hitting: 1) Changing OBP to OPS 2) Changing AVG to TB 3) Changing HR to RC (Runs created)
These are obviously huge changes, and would require a lot of discussion, but that's why I created this thread.
Thoughts?

Keep the league the same as is. I think it's fine for the most part.

I'm in favor of the pitching changes suggested. Not so much the hitting changes. OBP to OPS is fine with me but not crazy about the other two.

I think "Combining Holds and Saves into one category (SV+HD)" would devalue closers too much IMO.

I can get behind "Changing W (Wins)to QS (Quality Starts)" though.

Most of these would be too league altering. The only one I would support is QS instead of Wins.
Combining Saves/Holds really hurts closers value and makes relievers easier to manage. I enjoy having to find the balance of different types of relievers.
OPS only adds value to the power hitters. I enjoy having to find the specialty guys that can produce OBP.
AVG to TB also heavily favors power hitters. I like this league for needing multiple types of players to help balance a roster. These hitting changes would make that less necessary.
Just my 2 cents.

My thoughts were just those, thoughts. I am happy with the categories we have, but I think we can come out of the dark ages a bit.
I don't want to live in a fantasy world where Fernando Rodney is valuable just because he gets to pitch the 9th. He sucks. There aren't enough 'closers' to go around in a 15 team league anyway, so if a team has no closers, but several good relievers, they are able to stay competitive.
The total bases thing still gives homers their due, but makes sure they are not the only hits that count.
I don't expect any of these changes to be made, i was just throwing it out there.

I'm all for the 3 pitching changes, also changing OBP to OPS. I wouldn't be against changing AVG to TB, but I'm not for it either. The HR to RC isn't really one I'd be interested in.

Wins to Quality Starts is fine. I disagree with adding Saves to Holds. 40% of all Closers will be removed by the All Star break. Half the fun in establishing a pitching staff is to identify the next in line.

Other than the QS/W which I like, I would leave the league as is.
