Is there any ruling on how the international free agents work for the draft? I looked at the rules quick (and cant remember from last year) and didnt really see anything specifically on how guys who are likely to sign at some point but are not yet signed are treated for the draft. There seems like there many be a list of a 5-10 players who may not be signed by the start of our draft, but will sign at some point before or during the season. e.g. - Yasmani Tomas, Jose Fernandez, Kenta Maeda, etc.

They have to be signed to be eligible for the draft. I know someone brought up signed players after the draft staying in limbo until the next years draft. I don't think we have come up with a solution for that yet.

Our draft has not yet been scheduled. Last year, we started it on Jan 31, so I guess we'll shoot for somewhere around there again.
As for the international free agents: I understand the want/need for something to be put in place for guys who sign during the season, and agree it should be explored. However, we need a foolproof way to make the process fair, and I will be searching for something before next season starts. - For now, the process remains the same as before.

If hate this because it's give us nothing to do in the off-season except trade, but is the solution as simple as moving the draft to June 5, aka the 2015 signing period start for IFA.
That way we'd have all the eligible players from 2014 known for sure. This doesn't solve the "players who join the bigs before the draft, but it kinda sorta helps alleviate some of the uncertainty.

In the other dynasty I'm in we have a thread going from about now until our draft (usually early Jan) where people post the names of players who are currently IFA (who will most likely sign within the next year) that they want eligible for the draft. If there is an IFA who's name is not posted in the thread, he cannot be drafted until the following year, all the names posted in the thread are put into the draft pool with the most recent draftees. Basically it gives everyone a concrete list of what IFA are draft eligible so that everyone is drafting from the same pool.
It seems to work pretty well, we've done it for a few years now, haven't had any issues come up. It usually ends up being me and another owner or two that end up essentially putting together the list, but its really only a list of 5-10 guys.

Can we get a discussion going on this? I would want to cap it at something like 5. I would also probably want to exclude July 2nd kids. Thoughts??

That is a pretty good idea. Never thought of that before.

Are we going to do this for the upcoming draft? If so, let's start drafting a list of International Free Agents that are expected to sign.
