Are we missing some pieces here? Seems lopsided to me.

I was actually interested in Matt Moore then I looked into his peripherals. They are pretty scary.

Not saying collusion or anything but Weiters is better than Perez. Moore is much much much much better than Guerrieri. Guerrieri is out this year with TJ and he was suspended 50 games for drugs. I am missing something here.

Wow! Moore does have some scary stats but is still a top 35 starting pitcher with plenty of upside.

I'm not on the committee but have to agree with silvertips here, even if you consider perez and wieters even, moore is just so much more valuable and better than guerrieri. Its definitely not collusion though, so it should probably go through

Just for fun...
Matt Moore in 2013: 8.56 K/9, 4.55 BB/9, 39.4% GB%, 3.95 FIP and 4.32 xFIP. Player B in 2013: 7.50 K/9, 4.07 BB/9, 47.6% GB%, 4.24 FIP and 4.07 xFIP.
Matt Moore struck out a batter more per 9 in exchange for a considerably higher percentage of fly balls and more walks to boot. Player B is Edinson Volquez.

To be fair, Matt has a much better defense behind him than Volquez. But yeah, that's really surprising.

That comp really isn't meaningful, especially considering Moore's age and non-Tommy John past. Moore still has a solid chance to get his BB rate down and if he does hes a top 10 SP, volquez is what he is.

Completely missed the point there, I am not making a comparison in any way. All I'm trying to say is that Matt Moore is probably vastly overrated by most people, myself included before I did some research on him (I thought Ryan sold low when he shipped Moore for a trio of prospects).
Other than statistical shortcomings, Moore has also lost 3 MPH off his fastball in the last two years and battled with elbow soreness last year which is one of the biggest precursors to major arm trouble.
Give me Moore + Wieters 8 days a week but I don't think this trade is as one sided as it is being made out to be.

Honestly, I think Matt Wieters is far and away the best player in this deal. Let the record show: Terry, ya dun goofed. Big time.
But this trade does not smell of collusion or bad faith at all, so I begrudgingly approve.

approve for the reasons above. I would like to know, out of curiosity and if you care to say, if you are just cutting bait on moore and that's the best you can get or if you really believe that much in guerrieri.

Wieters hit .235 with a .287 OBP last year.
Just sayin'.

I should probably share my side. I really like Moore, and the deal I did to get him I only lost Owens. I had cutch in center so Jackie was expendable. I think Moore still has a chance to be really good but so does salvador, and he is at a weaker position.
Also weiters is not that much better than Perez. He has more power and walks but Perez can hit .300 and is five years younger. The only flier then is the health. If Salvador can be healthy I think he has the ability to be better.
In my mind I think this trade could easily be one sided for either of us in two years. Perez could become great but so could Moore. Its a risk but Terry Ryan is always been a fan of risks.

Even though this trade is approved. I still approve since no collusion. I still love one side more than the other. Lol
