Let me know what you think. 1. Abolish the trade-review committee. - If there is a trade that seems unbalanced to the point of needing a veto, we can discuss it as a league. 2. Trades involving draft picks should be labeled as such - We do this in another league I am in and it saves the mods from having to go thru all the trades to keep track of pics - (ie. WWAS/FBWO trade * 2018 picks included) 3. Increasing the minors roster - It may keep the later rounds of our draft more interesting. 4. Setting a date in the offseason for in-eligible DL players to come off the DL - This was brought up this past offseason. Maybe November 1st? - We'll have to agree on a resource to use. If you have any ideas, please feel free to add them to the discussion. I like most of the ideas, but tend to agree with Roto on the cuts from MILB rosters and I think if we add MILB spots they should be done during next years draft.

How about as far as the minor league limits, once a batter or pitcher reaches the limit, the owner has one week to activate them to the MLB roster? Is that too difficult to keep track of? Also, I think the only fair way to add to the Minors rosters is to do it via the draft. Just think it's more organized than a free for all. It would also make owners think twice about dealing future picks. Just my two cents...

I think we should expand the major league roster by 2 and the minor league roster by 5. This should be a one and done. That being said if we are going to expand minor league rosters all teams should have the full allotment of picks. There have been a ton of picks traded for next years draft already. Maybe we issue compensation picks at the end of the rounds for traded picks? The teams that have the traded for picks keep them therefore getting the better players but the teams who traded away get extra picks at the end of the round after the trade. So, if I traded my first round pick in next years draft I get a compensation pick at the end of round 2. If I traded my second I get a compensation pick at the end of round 3 and so on and so on. That seems kind of fair to me.
I don't like when a minor league player is dropped it is first come first serve. If I just happen to be on the internet at the time I "own" that player? Shouldn't the lowest ranked team have priority status? I don't know how that would be fixed but it doesn't seem to be fair the way it is now. That being said though if I "scout" better and someone is a free agent I would have every right to pick that player as a free agent. It's the dropped players who would be priority status to the lower ranked teams.
Trades should just be allowed. There is no collusion here.
Trades should be labeled with draft picks for ease of the commish or whoever keeps track.

The only way I can think to do this is in the drop thread made by the original poster, any team can make a claim for a 48 hour window. Then the team with the worst record or whatever criteria is decided on gets that player and has to make an official add thread...That could get tricky with it being so transparent and people just wanting to add everyone Silvertips does but its a thought?

Wow, great job. Lots of good ideas and tons to comment on. In other leagues we have posted a vote for each proposed rule change and that would be useful here once we all chat about it first.
WWAS suggestions
1. Abolish the trade-review committee. I like it. Lets allow any league member to challenge the validity of trade (collusion), then if and only if it is challenged, we have the current review committee vote.
2. Trades involving draft picks should be labeled as such I agree and woudl take it one step further that the full team names should be in the title of the thread. Sorting through to find past trades is very cumbersome.
3. Increasing the minors roster Don't feel its necessary but if it will increase everyone's enjoyment of the league then lets do it. It should be done as a separate draft. Combining with the first year draft doesnt account for picking up non-first year players
4. Setting a date in the offseason for in-eligible DL players to come off the DL Agreed. This is an easy fix and is a bit of a gray area currently
Roto's suggestions - Start a new thread when adding a totally new conversation. This current thread is all over the map
#1 No minor league player cut during the yearly MiLB draft can be picked up until after the conclusion of the draft. A date and time (please don't make it midnight) would be selected and announced when cut players are available. My suggestion would be 7 pm or have a vote. This is a one time problem that you had. We have an active league which means if you are unactive, you run the risk of missing out. Also, if players were dropped before the draft, would they even be protected by this rule
#2 The MiLB minor league draft would remain at 5 rounds. Most teams don't use all five already. agreed
#3 Expand minor league roster by 2 players each of the next three years for a total of 26 players. Expansion cannot occur until five days after the MiLB draft. This would allow the cut players from the draft to have already been selected prior to expansion. It should be done as a separate round by round draft. All at once or progressively over a few years, I am impartial to
#4 Allow each owner the ability to challenge a trade. Once case is stated have a league vote. Agree but instead of a league vote, the veto commision can vote
#5 At some point during the off season all roster will be equal. My suggestion would be prior to the minor league draft where all rosters are equal. If the guy is on the DL and you desire to keep him, cut a player until the conclusion of the MiLB draft. We already voted on this 2 years ago so seems too soon to abolish it already. Lets fix its kinks so it runs smoother

Going to the comments regarding compensation picks for traded picks, there is absolutely no reason to consider this proposal. We are adding five rounds (6-10) that have no bearing on previously traded picks (1-5).

We are adding rounds? When was this discussed?

I'm going to lock this thread until we finish the draft. Then we'll discuss the issues, one by one. We have plenty of time before the season starts.
